The XII International Multiculturalism Summer School will begin

Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BBMM) is launching the XII International Multiculturalism Summer School project called "Multiculturalism policy as a key to global and regional peace". Since its establishment, the Multiculturalism Center has been implementing important projects related to the promotion and encouragement of Azerbaijani multiculturalism in the world, which was set as a goal by President Ilham Aliyev. One of the important projects of the center is the International Multiculturalism Summer and Winter schools, which have already become a tradition and are regularly organized twice a year. In the spring semester of 2022, the XII International Multiculturalism Summer School, which will be attended by students studying in foreign and local universities, where the subjects "Azerbaijani multiculturalism" and "Introduction to multiculturalism" are taught, will be held from July 24 to July 31 in Baku and also in Sheki, Gabala and Qakh regions.
It should be noted that the International Multiculturalism Summer and Winter Schools project is a logical continuation of the BBMM project "Teaching the subject of Azerbaijani multiculturalism abroad and at the local universities". Within the framework of the educational project, Summer and Winter schools are organized for students who are currently studying Azerbaijani multiculturalism in 24 prestigious higher educational institutions of the world, as well as in our country. The goal of the project is to create conditions for those young people to see with their own eyes and testify their theoretical knowledge in our country, where multicultural and tolerant values are preserved and live.
More than 20 students from leading universities of 14 countries - Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, France, Spain, Egypt, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Romania, Ghana, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Syria will participate in the XII International Multiculturalism Summer School. The participants of the summer school will be presented with lectures on the multicultural situation in Azerbaijan, tolerant mood, ethnic-religious diversity, peaceful coexistence of representatives of different peoples and different confessions in our country.
During the summer school the participants are scheduled to meet with Sheikh Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims’ Board, Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairman to the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Acad. Kamal Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center. On the first day, students will visit the Alley of Martyrs and the Alley of Honors. As a part of the summer school, a visit to the Caravanserai, Palace of Sheki Khans in Sheki, the Nij settlement where the Udi people live, the Alban-Udi Christian church in Gabala, and the Kurmuk temple in Qakh are also planned. At the closing ceremony of the XII International Multiculturalism Summer School the participants will be awarded with certificates.
As a result of international multiculturalism summer and winter schools, which have already become a valuable tradition, a communication platform and a powerful lobby of intellectual young people who support the righteous cause of our country have been formed in the example of young friends of Azerbaijan and their close circle abroad. This intensively ongoing process proves that the goals set by President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of introducing Azerbaijan to the world are being successfully realized.
