THE BOOK "ONOMASTICS OF THE TRUTH" WILL BE PUBLISHED IN THREE MORE LANGUAGES

On September 21, Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC) held a round table dedicated to the issues of making additions and changes to the book "Onomastics of Truth".

Academician Kamal Abdulla, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, said that the book "Onomastics of Truth" dedicated to Armenian vandalism and forgery in the territory of present-day Armenia is planned to be republished with additions and changes and translated into three more languages ​​(Russian, English, French). It was reported that this book was jointly prepared and published by Baku International Multiculturalism Center, Presidential Library of the Department of Affairs in the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the Azerbaijan University of Languages. Expressing the importance of translating this publication into many languages ​​and delivering it to the world community, which is an important step towards revealing the truths of Azerbaijan, Kamal Abdulla pointed out that Azerbaijan's diplomatic representations in foreign countries and diaspora organizations can play an important role in this matter. 

It was noted that this book prepared on the basis of the recommendation of President Ilham Aliyev is one of the most obvious examples of Armenian vandalism and forgery - mass changing of about 1,600 toponyms, hydronyms, oronyms belonging to us in order to erase the traces of Azerbaijanis who lived for centuries in the historical lands of Azerbaijan, in the territory of the present Republic of Armenia and falsification, and many settlements are dedicated to the fact that they were completely erased from the face of the earth on purpose. The book, intended for experts and a wide readership, gives the history and explanation of the toponyms of 737 settlements, 499 abolished villages and settlements, 704 renamed administrative units, 231 oronims, 116 hydronyms, 137 meadows and winter meadows, which are the ancestral home of Azerbaijanis in Armenia.

During his speech at the event Ravan Hasanov, the executive director of BIMC, said that research work is being continued in the direction of identifying toponyms in the territory of the Republic of Armenia. In the new edition of the book, the number of such forged names will be increased, new maps will be included.

It should be noted that the idea author of the publication is academician Kamal Abdulla, the chairman of the Board of Trustees of BIMC; the authors are: Professor Ibrahim Bayramov, Doctor of Sciences in Philology, and Nazim Mustafa, PhD in History; the members of the editorial board are: Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of BIMC, Mayil Ahmadov, Director of the Presidential Library of the Department of Affairs in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Firdovsi Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ramiz Mammadov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Geographical Society, Deputies of Milli Majlis - Musa Gasimli, Aziz Alakbarli, Musa Guliyev, Muqabil Bayramov, Deputy Director of “Geodesy and Cartography” LLC , Hajar Verdiyeva, Doctor of Sciences in History, Aslan Bayramov, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Kifayat Imamguliyeva, PhD in Philology; the person in charge for the project is Araz Gurbanov, analyst of BIMC.
