Day of Restoration of Independence Celebrated at Multiculturalism Center

An online seminar on "Restoration of independence and Azerbaijani multiculturalism" was held at Baku International Multiculturalism Center. The event organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1991-2021) was moderated by Rashad Ilyasov, head of the department of Analitics at BIMC. Representatives of national and religious communities operating in our country, as well as teachers and students of Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, Azerbaijan University of Language, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University participated in the seminar. Ravan Hasanov, executive director of Multiculturalism Center, who opened the event with his opening speech, reviewed the history of October 18 - the day of restoration of independence and spoke about the glorious path that Azerbaijani people took for independence. R. Hasanov especially emphasized that our country celebrates this significant date - the 30th anniversary of the restoration of independence with great pride like the whole of Azerbaijan. During the 44-day Patriotic War, under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army liberated our lands from the Armenian occupation - the historical significance of this glorious victory and the experienced pride were reflected in the reports of all other participants who spoke at the event. Yashar Ahmadov, associate professor of the department of Social sciences at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, "Historical significance of independence", Aysel Bagirova, a teacher of the department of International relations at Azerbaijan University of Languages, "Independence and economic development of Azerbaijan", Shalala Babayeva, associate professor and head of the department  of Psychology at AUL, "Social-psychological characteristics of freedom" and Aynur Isayeva, Ph.D. of the department of International relations, "The formation of the Azerbaijani diaspora and its role in the Karabakh War II" delivered speeches. Prof. Aytan Gahraman, advisor of Baku International Multiculturalism Center, archpriest Mefodiy Efendiyev, secretary of the Baku Diocese Administration, Yury Osadchenko, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Ukraine Congress Public Union, Mahammad Nooyev, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Avar Public Union, Imran Rzayev, chairman of the "Samur" Lezgi Center also spoke about the historical importance of October 18 - Day of Restoration of Independence. At the end of the event, the moderator R. Ilyasov expressed special thanks to all the participants, as well as to Irina Kunina, head of the department of Education at BIMC for her activity in organizing the seminar.
